Ralph and Catherine Clark

Ralph and Catherine Clark will celebrate their 63rd wedding anniversary on March 18.  They were married in the Lutheran Church in St. Albans, New York.  When asked the secret for such a long married life, Catherine replied, “We get along very well.  We love one another and like the same things such as movies, food, and other activities.  She guesses they are just lucky to have good friends at church and home, and she says with God’s help, it will continue.” The Clark’s have lived in the same house for 57 years.

Ralph was born in Oilton, Oklahoma to Mattie and Harry Clark.  He has one brother and five half brothers and sisters who are all deceased.  He graduated from Oilton High School.  He was in the U.S. Army for one year and the Coast Guard for three years.  He worked at Tinker AFB for 36 years.  His hobbies are reading and gardening.  He enjoys walking and seeing new sites.

Catherine was born in Queens in New York City to Elizabeth and George Beckel.  She has a 90 year old brother and an 81 year old sister.  She graduated from Andrew Jackson High in St. Albans in New York City.  Catherine worked in insurance in New York in 1942, the defense plant from 1943-45 and at Tinker in 1951.   She also enjoys gardening along with cleaning, cooking, and napping.  She collects shells and rocks from exotic places.  Ralph and Catherine have one daughter, Cathy Ritter, who taught at Monroney for 34 years.

They joined MBCC in 1983.  Catherine has been involved in Christmas for Others, and enjoys the unbirthday parties, and participating in fund raisers.  Ralph has been a deacon and is an elder emeritus.  He enjoys Christian fellowship.  The Clark’s are very friendly and shake hands with almost everyone in attendance on Sunday mornings.   They are always on the back row in worship.
